Carol Gniady, Executive Director

Carol GniadyCarol Gniady is a New Orleans native who is fiercely devoted to her city. She’s had rewarding, multi-faceted positions in communications and non-profit management, and she is excited to be working now with French Quarter Citizens. For the past year she’s provided business management consulting services for select clients. Prior to consulting, she served for thirteen years as Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Delgado Community College. Previously, she served on the board of directors and then as the Executive Director for the New Orleans Film Society, helping establish the New Orleans Film Festival as a celebrated cultural event and film industry gathering. Carol started her career in broadcasting and music, working as a producer for radio stations WQUE/WGSO, as Creative Services writer/producer at WWL-TV, and Operations Manager for local record label Monkey Hill.

Carol grew up in Carrollton and has always called New Orleans home. Ten years ago, she moved into an 1850’s Italianate side hall in the Marigny. Since settling into this historic district she has focused her energies on preservation efforts, volunteering through the Faubourg Marigny Neighborhood Improvement Association. Through her work to create awareness for the neighborhood’s issues with illegal short term rentals she was invited to join the Short Term Rentals committee, which encompasses citywide constituents’ issues including residential quality of life. Her communications and marketing expertise, management experience, and passion for community will benefit the advocacy efforts of French Quarter Citizens and their partners in preservation.
